ART ENABLES US TO FIND OURSELVES AND LOOSE OURSELVES AT THE SAME TIME. - Thomas Merton
As a little girl I would sit for hours in my room, drawing and copying characters from my Mickey Mouse comics, listening to good old fashioned story tapes. I knew that drawing is my talent that I should pursue and and as the years passed I would take every opportunity to express myself through art. Painting, specifically on different wood panels, became my thing when I was pregnant for the first time. I spent more time at home than ever before and so many new emotions would constantly rotate inside of me, that the only way to calm myself and not too feel completely overwhelmed was painting. To this day, painting is the first thing I do if I feel too stressed or unbalanced.
THE PURPOSE OF ART IS WASHING THE DUST OF DAILY LIFE OFF OUR SOULS.

As you can tell, I am slightly obsessed with underwater themes. I love to mix the underwater world with elements from land like flowers, insects, skylines. This specific painting on the right shows the CHICAGO SKYLINE. The painting itself is 65 inches long and 30 inches tall. I created this custom piece for a very lovely lady who saw my art hanging in a Cafe and wanted to have something for herself that would remind her of home. Here it is -----> |
